The market research firm IDC has released new figures on the mobile market. Accordingly, Apple is the second consecutive quarter of top 5 manufacturers in the world. Overall, the mobile phone market grows by 17 percent compared to lavish on-year.
With growth of 86 percent in 2010, Apple now uses 4 percent of the market with its iPhone family. Compared to last quarter, the company has lost a seat – and broke even though the recently published figures all records.
At the top of the Top 5 next is Nokia. The company leads the ranking with 30.8 percent market share, but posted a negative growth of 2.4 percent. Samsung is at # 2 with 20.1 percent market share, growth is compared to the year 2009 when South Korean manufacturers 17.3 percent. At the positions 3 and 4 are LG with 7.6 percent market share (-9.7 percent) and ZTE, which offer distributed in Germany by different network operators under its own brand devices, with 4.2 percent (+76.8 percent) . ZTE’s new in the top list of manufacturers and is especially successful in the low segment and in developing countries.
“The positions 4 and 5 could be changed more frequently this year,” said Ramon Llamas, an analyst at IDC, “Motorla, Research in Motion and Sony Ericsson, [...] are ready to jump into the Top 5″
Overall, the worldwide mobile phone market is only in the 4th Quarter grew by 17.9 percent. This is a new high, the resulting particularly from the rapidly growing smartphone market. In 2010 a total of 1.39 billion mobile phones were sold, an increase of 18.5 percent over the previous year.
