As we know, the Finnish smartphones, Nokia is working with Microsoft in the future and make Windows Mobile 7, probably from 2012.
As has become well known for some time, Nokia plans to port Qt development environment on Windows Mobile 7 now . The official Qt Blog announced that Nokia is delivers licensing of Qt and submit it to a third company that is “Digia”.
Then, Digia will take care the license of commercial Qt version and also in further developing the developer environment to participate Digia.
For consumers and developers of free software will change but not much, but this step is a very clear sign that Nokia is looking at the future of Windows Mobile 7. Because Qt was originally Nokia‘s ecosystem for the future with the Apps for Symbian, Maemo, but MeeGo and desktop systems should be developed. However, Nokia retain the copyright and thus the control . They are away for the time being only tasks from the companies that do not fit into the plan .
