Samsung could be preparing to step up its patent battle against Apple and will be looking to seek a comprehensive ban on the sales of the company’s forthcoming iPhone 5 handset in South Korea.
Samsung claims that all Apple’s iPhones infringe on seven of its South Korean patents, and that as the patent battle among the two companies becomes increasingly acrimonious, it is preparing to block the launch of the new smartphone.
If Samsung is ready to safe a court-ordered ban on the sales of the smartphone in its home industry, that would also raise the stakes significantly if the business then moved to enforce the very same patents in the USA or European markets.
